Revisiting the constitution

It seems every few months there is yet another shooting. The most recent that was highly publicised was in Las Vegas. Therefore, I choose the seventh piece by Melynda Price to focus on in this blog.
Ms. Price believes that abolishing the second amendment will not put an end to gun violence and I agree. The difference is she wants to abolish and I want a drastic reduction in ability to getting them and what kind that is available to the public.
Certain guns like automatics and things that can make basic guns become more dangerous should never be available for sale. Those type of guns should be for military use and only in use during active duty. People are crafty and will probably figure out how to get it. However, making it harder means less people will bother trying to get one. With competency test, vision and psychological evaluations every 6 months to a year would assure that as people get older and people change there guns could be taken away. There could also be a high gun tax per gun at purchase and yearly. On top of that make the purchasing process just a tedious.
I believe that with restrrestrictions like those and some handling rules it would diminish the amount of guns crimes in this country. The problem is that you would have to have the government on the same side as the public. Unfortunately, it seems like that is not the case at this time. People need to do their part by being knowledgeable voters. Making sure we have representatives with the people's best interests at heart.
